Amethyst 6mm bead bracelet on elastic cord with pewter dragonfly charm designed by Lil’wat Nation artist Roxanne Dick. One size fits most, approximately 18 cm (7″) circumference.

Amethyst is the birthstone for February. With a hardness of 7, it has the highest iron content of any quartz, giving it a colour varying from a delicate orchid to a glorious violet. The world’s major amethyst occurrences are in Brazil, Uruguay and Africa. In Canada, amethyst is found in Thunder Bay, Ontario and is the official stone of that province.
The name amethyst is from the Greek ‘amethystos’ meaning ‘not drunken.’ The Greeks believed that amethyst prevents or cures intoxication and enhances the inner energy of its owner. As a healing stone it is said to be helpful in ridding nightmares. Also helpful to calm an overworked and over stressed mind as it is thought to dispel negativity and create a peaceful environment.
Roxanne Dick is from the Lil`wat Nation, an Interior Salish First Nation community in British Columbia, Canada. An Ambassador for her Nation, Roxanne enjoys sharing her culture with the international guest that visit the Sea to Sky Valley located in her traditional territory.
