Description
Carved moonstone cylinder pendant with silver plated bezel. Bezel features heart, diamond, clubs & spade design around the edge. Approximate size 38 x 14 mm (1.5 x 0.6″). 31″silver plated chain can be adjusted in length. As these are made from natural stones, colours and patterns on stones may not be exactly as shown.
This variety of alkali feldspar is of the orthoclase variety. As magma gradually cools, albite within the mineral forms alternating layers which create a shimmering glow known as adularescence. The quality of moonstone varies and may range from a light milky glow to a bright blue glow, with the highest quality displaying a rainbow sheen. Moonstone occurs within igneous rocks such as pegmatite and granite.
As a healing stone, moonstone is said to enhance intuitive sensitivity, relieve anxiety, stress and over-reaction.
