Pyrolusite is a mineral consisting essentially of manganese dioxide. It is a black, amorphous appearing mineral, often with a granular, fibrous or columnar structure. Pyrolusite is an essential ingredient in steel and other alloys, it is also used as a colouring material. It is often called the stone of confidence and transformation.
