Description
Carved BC Jade mouse/rat with etched detailing on face. Available in two sizes.
Jade was formed by nature, deep in the earth’s crust under high pressure and temperatures, a process that has taken millions of years to complete. This semi-precious stone ranges in colour from pure white to a very dark green or black.
Jade refers to two mineral species, Jadeite and Nephrite. Jadeite (silicate of aluminum and crystaline) is found mainly in Burma. High quality Nephrite (silicate of magnesium) has made British Columbia the Jade capital of the world.
Jade, prized in the Orient and throughout the world, carries a legend that is believed to have mysterious powers of restoring good health and bringing good fortune to its possessor. Jade is also considered by many people to be a good investment.
