This colourful copper ore is composed of copper iron sulfide in the form of chalcopyrite and bornite. The tarnishing process, which created the multiple colors, has been induced by treatment in acid. Peacock ore is found in Mexico, USA and Canada. Its colors are related to the quantities of iron (red), copper (blue-green) and gold coloured pyrite and galena.
As a healing stone, this is said to be a stone of happiness and joy and will help one to tune into the positive forces in life. It helps us to accept joy in any moment. Peacock ore is helpful to all the chakras and is a wonderful meditation stone.
